Actress reveals loss of hope in Buhari's government

The veteran Nollywood actress who is known for tackling governmental issues head on, using the hashtag, “#dontpushme,” reveals that she is beginning to lose hope in Muhammadu Buhari's government.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

The mother-of-four made the revelation in a series of tweets via her Twitter page using the hastag which has since gone viral as Nigerians reveal their struggles with the current situation of things in the country.

“I supported Buhari, but power instability and petrol scarcity are making me doubt him.

“#DontPushMe: I’m losing hope in Buhari.

“He’s the first president I chose to support because of his past record and trusted testimonies, however, I believe he’s started making a few mistakes that his attention must be brought to (because I want to believe he means well).

“I believe in the man Buhari. I am not ‘yet’ condemning the Federal Government. My immediate grouse NOW is: With an insensitive state government who knows the ‘many’ issues and still wants to impoverish the people.

“A monotonous power generating body left unchecked by the government which is allowed to exploit and extort from the people.

“As for the fuel queues and power outages… Research still on #dontpushme."

Omotola joins a long list of celebrities who have revealed their displeasure with the situation of electricity in Nigeria, even before the fuel scarcity made things worse.

We hope the government sees these things in hopes that it would spur them into action.
