American actor Nicolas Cage has returned a Dinosaur skull which Reuters reported that he bought as Tyrannosaurus bataar skull for $276,000 from a Beverley Hills gallery.

It is reported that the Oscar-winning actor outbid Titanic movie hero Leonardo DiCaprio to win the purchase of the skull in 2007. Both the actor and the gallery are not accused of stealing it and the US authorities have released a statement that he (Cage) voluntarily agreed to hand over the rare skull. It will be returned to the Mongolian Government.
The Con Air star’s publicist Alex Schack informed the press that the actor was contacted in 2014 by the Department of Homeland Security that the skull might have possibly been stolen. Investigation went on until 2015 when they finally discovered the truth about it.
The Mongolian Government has criminalized Dinosaur fossils export as far back as 1924. The Tyrannosaurus bataar was related to the Tyrannosaurus rex and lived approximately 70 million years ago. Its remains have only been discovered in Mongolia.
