Actress rushed to hospital for Chikungunya disease

Latest reports say she's been released from hospital but still remains in intensive care.

Lindsay Lohan was rushed to a London hospital yesterday after contracting Chikungunya, a virus transmitted by mosquito bites that causes fever, joint pain and fatigue.

Reports say she might have picked up the 'incurable' virus while in Bora Bora where she spent her holidays before returning to Los Angeles to shoot a commercial for Esurance.

By the time she returned to London just after New Year's, she became too ill to even walk.

Latest reports from TMZ claim Lohan has been released from the King Edward VII's Hospital because her fever broke sufficiently, but her joint pain is still intense. Doctors have referred her to a specialist.
