Record label asks singer to apologize to Dr. Luke over rape allegations

According to the singer, she can only gain her "freedom" from her contract with Sony prducer, Dr. Luke, if she tells the world she lied about the rape allegations she levied against him last year.

Kesha claims freedom can only come if she lies she wasnt raped by Dr. Luke

Kesha took to her Instagram April 3 posting a picture of herself with the caption: "So. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors. I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again."

Kesha accused the Sony producer, Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald) of physically abusing her and raping her for years. She has been wrapped in a legal battle with the producer , who has an exclusive contract with the singer that prevents her from creating music with any other producers.

Back in February, Judge Shirley Kornreich denied the singer's request for an injunction, ruling that releasing the singer from the contract under Sony would cause irreparable damage to the record labels involved. Sony also pledged to allow Kesha to work with other producers.

However, her legal rep, Mark Geragos argues that Kesha’s inability to produce music since the filing for lawsuit in October had the potential to kill her career.

According to a source close to the case who spoke with BuzzFeed News,  nothing new had occurred within the past 24 hours, but told the news outlet that Geragos was in the process of attempting to bring Daniel Petrocelli – an attorney best known for his work in a wrongful death lawsuit against O.J. Simpson – onto Kesha’s legal team.

A hearing for the appeal has not yet been scheduled.
