Actor's on-and-off girlfriend commits suicide

Law enforcement confirms that two friends found Cathriona White at her residence in LA and it is believed she died from an overdose of drugs as pills were found next to her body.

Jim Carey's girlfriend has been ruled dead after she reportedly committed suicide.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, they received a stress call on Monday night after someone went into a resident and found the body of 28-year-old Cathriona White.

Sources tell TMZ that a suicide note was found alongside White's corpse addressed to Carey. In the letter she referenced her split with the famous actor on September 24 as the cause of her death.

On September 24, Cathriona tweeted: "Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest."

53-year-old Carrey and White met in 2012, dated a few months and then split. They rekindled their relationship in May. 'The Mask' star is yet to make a statement.
