Here's why rapper did not turn up with Beyonce for MET Gala 2016

E! Online reports that Jay Z had not attended the annual event in a bid to promote his pop star wife's surprise album, "Lemonade", by fuelling the rumours of adultery and divorce.

Keep looking at Becky oooo

Of course, Beyonce's solo appearance had done just that, as it gave rise to the various speculations which have been making the rounds since the album dropped, increasing sales and publicity.

E! Online reports that Jay Z had appeared at the opening night of her Formation World Tour concert in Miami with exclusive pictures showing them riding a golf cart backstage, creating the picture of a united front in the face of the scandalous headlines which were making the rounds.

Sources reveal to E! News that the rapper had intentionally avoided the night of glitz and glamour so as to promote his wife and her headline-making album.

Another insider reveals to E! News:

"They thought it was a good move that Beyoncé go alone this year to the Met. They aren't fighting but they thought it would be a better look if she came solo for her new album and all the hype that was attached to it."

Beyoncé did not only attend the gala alone, but had turned up at the Balmain after-party without  Jay Z, as another source reveals to E! News that she had not seemed to mind his absence.

The insider adds:

"She was in a group that included Olivier [Rousteing], her sister and her sister's husband. They were hanging in their area having a great time."

"Lemonade" has definitely raised all sorts of anticipation and speculation which just gives rise to more money and publicity the album is bound to rack up, so why not enjoy the win-win situation?

Then again, this reports may turn out to be fresh speculations to help hide the underlying problem as Beyonce's actress cousin, Shanica Knowles revealed that the couple have been going through a series of "silent separations" over the years.
