George Clooney doesn’t look like the man who cares about what people think about him or his decisions but he went candid about the public's opinion about his marriage on Stephen Colbert's  debut 'Late Show' on Tuesday, September 8.

When prodded about his marriage to human rights lawyer, Amal Ramzi Alamuddin,  Clooney said jokingly, "they said it wouldn't last."

After referring to the actor as 'the arm candy' in the relations, host Colbert said: "Because she's a very serious person. She must say, 'we're going to meet some extremely intelligent people tonight.'" But Clooney replied: "Shiny and pretty – that's mostly what I do now."

Colbert gave Clooney a belated wedding present, noting that he did not receive an invitation to the nuptials. Clooney opened a Tiffany's box, which contained an engraved paper weight reading, "I don't know you."

"That's just to remind you that we don't know each other," said Colbert, adding he didn't want to "do the celebrity thing" and pretend they are pals in real life.
