The Nigerian born actor says his dad is always furious when people mispronounce his name but is also guilty of doing the same to other people's name.

In an appearance on, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, David Oyelowo was speaking on the correct pronunciation of his name.
He mentioned that his father mispronounces everyone’s names including Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg.
David Oyelowo has steadily risen to become one of Hollywood’s favourite actors. He is currently buzzing from his Golden Globe Award nomination for his role as Martin Luther King in the movie, Selma, for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama.

According to the information on his page, David Oyelowo was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in the United Kingdom, to Nigerian parents of Yoruba extraction. His mother worked for a railway and his father, Stephen, worked for the national airline.
He has starred in other high profile movies like The Butler, Interstellar, and Jack Reacher. He is married to actress Jessica Oyelowo, with whom he has four children.
