The popular restaurant and confectionery was shut down by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) following reports that staff had been cooking with expired products.

Subsequently, online news platform, The City reporters alleged that containers of the expired products, some up to 11 years old, had been found in Mousalli’s residence.

Pulse reached out to the owners of the restaurant to confirm the allegations but no response was received.

The family however issued a statement later saying that they were cooperating with the relevant authorities.
