A news source close to Affleck revealed this in a chat with Us Magazine.

“There was a cake and they did the usual stuff: hiking and playing outside,”
“They wanted to be together as a family.”
Both have been separated for a period of one year, but are yet to finalise their divorce case.
They are one happy duo as they go about things in a friendly fashion.
According to reports, the birthday get-together is an annual event the pair have managed to sustain despite not been smitten about each other like they used to.
