Rapper urges Chris Rock not to host Oscars

2016 is set to be the second year in which no person of colour got nominated for any of the top four categories.

The 2016 Oscars nominations has raised a lot of dust in the last few hours as it was noted that coloured actors had not been nominated for the Awards for the second year in a row.

Comedian, Chris Rock, who happens to be the host for this year's award has referred to it as "The White BET Awards."

The announcement caused outrage on social mediums, with the hastag #OscarsSoWhite, one of the trending topics.

Coloured celebrities who had been invited for the awards, had for this same reason, turned down their invitations publicly.

Rapper, Snoop Dogg, went as far as telling the organisers of the Oscars, "F**k You."

Rapper 50 Cent has now taken to instagram to plead with Rock to turn down his role as the host for the show.

He shared a photo of the comedian, saying:

"Chris, please do not do the Oscars Awards. You mean a lot man, don't do it. Please."

The comedian is yet to comment on this appeal.
