America’s top-selling SUV makes it's way to Africa

The 2016 Ford Explorer has been introduced to the Sub-Saharan African market.

Unlike it's previous model, Vanguard reports that this new model has better smart technologies, and overall improved performance.

Rob Johnston, Regional Manager Sales and Marketing, Ford Customer Services Division for Sub-Saharan Africa, has revealed his thoughts on this new model.

“The Ford Explorer helped define how the world thinks about SUVs. It is the centrepiece of Ford’s global utility vehicle line-up because it delivers an ideal combination of form and function."

Arie Groeneveld, chief engineer for the new Explorer, spoke on the new features of this 2016 model.

“Customers love Explorer, and they expect it to continue to lead the way in innovation, performance and fun. That’s the challenge we embraced when we set out to build the best SUV in the world. The new Explorer isn’t giving up its reputation as a leader in highway fuel efficiency – which is especially key for customers who want a vehicle that is also a capable trail warrior."

Other features include all-new EcoBoost engines, intelligent four-wheel drive with Terrain Management System, this provides precise handling, 280 to 365 HP.

Prices begin from $31,050 (N6.2m).
