Forbes has released its annual list of world top billionaires, and this year, Forbes list 2016 features 1,810 billionaires, 16 persons down the 2015 list, and the combined wealth of $6.48 trillion.

Bill gates, though had a bad year but maintained his spot as the world’s richest man with the net worth of $75 billion despite being $4.2 billion poorer than a year ago.

While 501 added to their fortunes while 892 people are poorer.

1. Bill Gates ($75 billion)

Bill Gates, American business magnate, computer programmer, philanthropist and co-founder of leads the 2016 Forbes list with $75 Billion.

Gates has maintained his lead on the billionaire’s list for 3 years in a row and has topped the list 17 times out of 22 times he has made the list.

2. Amancio Ortega($67 billion)

Amancio Ortega is a Spanish fashion businessman, founding chairman of the , best known for its chain of Zara clothing and accessories retail shops.

Ortega replaced Mexico’s Carlos Slim to be become the second richest man in the world.

3. Warren Buffet ($60.8 billion)

Termed the most successful investor on earth, Warren Buffet is an American business magnate, investor and philanthropist.

Buffet managed his position at the third place on the 2016 billionaire list same as the previous year.

4. Carlos Slim Helu ($50 billion)

Carlos Slim Helú is a Mexican business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He derived most of his wealth from his extensive holdings in a considerable number of Mexican companies through his conglomerate, Grupo Carso.

Within 2010 and 2013, slim ranked as the world’s richest man in the world, in 2015 he ranked the second richest man in the world while Bill Gates ranked number 1.

Slim is also referred to the Warren Buffet of Mexico.

5. Jeff Bezos ($45.2 billion)

Jeff Bezos is an American technology entrepreneur, investor and CEO of Amazon.com

6. Mark Zuckerberg ($44.6 billion)

Mark Zuckerberg is an American computer programmer, Internet entrepreneur, philanthropist, the chairman, chief executive, and co-founder of the social networking website .

Zuckerberg in 2015 was worth $35.7 billion.

7. Larry Ellison ($43.6 billion)

Larry Ellison is an American internet entrepreneur, businessman, philanthropist and serves as executive chairman and chief technology officer of Oracle Corporation

In 2014, Ellison was listed the third wealthiest man in American and fifth wealthiest in the world.

In 2015, Ellison was worth $49.3 billion, but has gone down to $43.6 billion making him the seventh richest man in the world.

8. Michael Bloomberg ($40 billion)

Michael Bloomberg is an American business magnate, politician, and philanthropist. With a net worth of $41.1 billion, he is the 6th-wealthiest person in the United States and the 8th-wealthiest in the world.

9. Charles Koch and David Koch($39.6 billion)

The Koch brothers own the Koch industries. Charles Koch is the chairman of the board and chief executive officer while his brother David Koch serves as the executive Vice President.

Charles and David each own 42% of the conglomerate.

Forbes reports that 221 people dropped from the list, 198 people joined the billionaire ranks, 29 persons died, and 29 persons who had dropped out in the previous year climbed back on.
