“It’s opened up all sorts of opportunities that businesses didn’t normally have”.

While discussing the advantages of social media in product promotion, she highlighted that importance of having a strong product of good quality.

“You can promote your product on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, you can spend thousands of dollars on building your own website, to showcase your wears, but if the product that you’re selling is not strong, then all of that e-infrastructure is completely pointless”.

Balfour advised small brands to work hard to stay on top of their game.

“It’s really hard work. You have to believe in what you are doing, you have to believe in yourself”, she said.

“I follow everything with passion”, she said. Adding that she observes catwalks, watches films and read magazine.

The Access Conference 2015 presented success stories from several industry leaders including Herbert Wigwe, CEO and Group Managing Director Access Bank, Founder LDA Couture, Lanre DaSilva Ajayi, Former President Costa Rica Jose-Maria Figueres, Creative Brand Strategist at Twitter J, and several others.
