Access Bank celebrates women at The W Awards
The women nominated were selected based on their achievements and contributions towards the economic and social development of Nigeria.
The award ceremony which is concept by the financial institution was held in Lagos on December 10, 2015, at the Access Conference 2015.
The women nominated were selected based on their achievements and contributions towards the economic and social development of Nigeria. Dr Evelyn Oputu a retired baker and Chairperson of the W awards spoke to Pulse Nigeria about the nomination conditions.
“For whatever the woman did, it had to be beyond self. It wasn’t just if you were professional like the professional category. We wanted to see the impact that you had on the community”, Oputu said.
“We want to celebrate the sort of women who hold on to values that are lost, the more we talk about them, the more we celebrate them, the more they’ll be role models".
