Netplusdotcom selected to partake in Mastercard’s Start Path

Nigeria's tech startups are making significant progress, attracting investors and positioning as the next cash cow and business for the economy.

Mastercard Start Path

Mastercard’s Start Path is a program which aim at supporting innovative and financial solutions. The program was launched in 2014, and has had over 5,000 startups seeking to participate in the program. Record shows that only 100 startups from 24 countries across the world have benefited from the initiative.

In recent time, tech startups from Nigeria and other Africa countries have been receiving global attention for their innovative solutions to financial or social related problems. Just last month, Plug and Play Tech Center chose Nigeria’s Flutterwave and South Africa’s Hepstar for its Accelerator Programs.

NetPlusDotCom is a technology company with solutions in e-commerce, e-payment and digital trends which started business operation in 2009. The company also in 2016 launched a mPOS solution for merchants known as “STORM” in partnership with Etisalat.

This edition of Start Path Global Program will run for 6 months, and it will see five startups selected, including Nigeria’s NetPlusDotCom, try to provide value-added solutions on Mastercard product offerings.

Amy Neale, the Vice President of Mastercard Start Path, noted that “…fintech startups around the world are designing a digital future. They’re bringing a different approach to enhance customer choice and experience across the industry,”

She added, “Our work with these startups helps connect new technology with reliable, secure financial networks and processes to create an even more rewarding and seamless commerce experience.”
