Speaking at the ongoing World Economic Forum on Africa in Durban, South Africa, she blamed the poor state of the continent on the failure of its leadership which the youths don’t feel a sense of trust towards.

While quoting American President Thomas Jefferson, she said, “When a person takes a position of public trust, they become public property.”

Speaking further on building trust through sustainable institutions in the continent, she said “Public property is supposed to be accessible. Public property is supposed to be owned by everyone.

Do they feel a sense that the nation state in which they are growing is one that they even have any affinity with? Do they get a sense that the nation state recognises that they exist”
