LONDON — The Metropolitan Police investigated a potential "suspicious package" in Westminster on Thuesday night, The Sun reports, the day after a terrorist attack killed four people and injured dozens nearby in the British capital.

There were reportedly "loud bangs" heard after the Police began to investigate. Sky News reporter Laura Bundock wrote on Twitter that the security cordon was lifted after a "controlled explosion."
News agency Reuters added on Twitter that police subsequently said the package was "not suspicious."
