The beauty entrepreneur addresses the influx of fake beauty products in the Nigeria market in a recent interview with Pulse TV stating where there's a continuous desire to use fake beauty product the demand for cheaper alternative/fake beauty products there will continually increase leaving intellectual property theft to grow in leaps!
The foremost Nigerian beauty entrepreneur and creative director of House Of Tara International who heads a collective against intellectual property theft with 'United We Stand' campaign launched recently in Lagos has spoken out in recent times about how fake products are impacting negatively on the beauty industry.
Though noting that the recent economic situation in the country makes people want to cut costs in different ways and with makeup when people can't afford the original they opt for the fakes, she insists that when you buy or see people buying fake products and keep quiet about it, that's also abetting!
"As long as people seek to buy the fake of a product there will always be a demand. If you see people buying fake products and say nothing then you are abetting".
"Economic issues make people want to cut costs there would be more people creating fakes of something or buy the fake of something as they can't afford the original and because someone is buying (the fake) someone is selling! "The only reason there's a supply is because there's a demand for it". She says.
