Below are some step to step tips for making lip balm using honey and juice extracts.

How can I make lip balm from juice extract?

Step one: Add into a microwave-able bowl some vaseline or petroleum jelly. Add as much or as little as you want.

Step two: Heat it.

You can either heat up your Vaseline in the microwave or in a heatproof bowl over boiling water.

Step three: Add the colour of your choice.

Colourize the Vaseline or Petroleum jelly by cutting a small piece of your favorite lipstick, scraping out some eye shadow or blush and mixed them together. Stir it thoroughly with a spoon. Heats it again to make it easier to stir.

Step four: Add a flavor.

Mix in a little juice extract.

Add as much as you want depending on how much flavour you want it to have.

Step five: Allow the mixture to cool off, and find a suitable container to put the balm. It’s yours, you can use it when needed.

Firstly, You should know that lip balm is made from a combination of oils and solids that blends to create a mixture that is spreadable, but not liquefied. And what the oil does is to make the balm soft and moisturizing; the beeswax stiffens it, and the essential oils add scent.

Ingredients:

Step one: mix all ingredients together in a bowl

Step two: Pour the mixture into a double boiler, and use low heat to melt slowly.

But should it happen that you do not have a double boiler, you can make one with two pots. Find a large pot and a smaller pot that fits inside it. Fill the larger pot with a few inches of water, and then place the smaller pot inside. Pour the lip balm mixture into the small pot, and ensure with carefulness that water from the big pot does not get into the small pot.

Also, it is advisable to use a reserved to use a pot reserved especially for making lip balm and other body products since beeswax is difficult to remove from cookware.

Step three: Melt the ingredients over medium-high heat, and stir as much as you can to ensure a well-mixed cooperation.

Step four: Add color. Add a chunk of your favorite lipstick, blush, or eyeshadow color if you wish. Mix it in with a spoon.

Step five: Allow the mixture to cool completely, and pour it into a suitable a container.

Use the balm and decide how you like the texture. If you want a firmer balm next time, use more beeswax. Use more oil if you like it softer.

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon rose mica powder
  • optional: 2-4 drops of peppermint essential oil
