English poet's album cover added to National Portrait Gallery collection

Kate Tempest's portrait will go on display alongside some of the most celebrated poets in Britain.

A photograph of pensive Kate Tempest is the latest album cover image acquired by the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The photograph which was taken by Dav Stewart,  will be joining the likes of Amy Winehouse and the Mario Testino shot used for Madonna’s Ray of Light.

The photograph of Tempest will join the major touring exhibition Picture the Poet when it opens at The Collection in Lincoln on 1 May 2015, where she will be the youngest figure on display.

Kate who will kick off her North American tour next month, will also perform with George the Poet and Hollie McNish at the Brighton festival on 14 May.

The Picture the Poet which is designed to inspire young people and develop their literacy skills, will open at The Collection in Lincoln on May 1 until August 2, 2015. .
