The House of Representatives has summoned the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.), to appear before its newly inaugurated Committee on Rivers State Oversight.

The invitation, announced barely 24 hours after the committee’s formal inauguration, was confirmed in a statement by House spokesperson Akin Rotimi.

The committee, chaired by House Leader Hon. (Prof.) Julius Ihonvbere is set to conduct an interactive session with Ibas to examine unfolding developments in the state since he assumed office.

“This engagement is necessary to ascertain the true state of affairs in Rivers State and ensure that the House remains properly guided in the discharge of its oversight responsibilities in the public interest,” said Ihonvbere, emphasising the legislature's constitutional duty to ensure transparency and accountability.
