Sheggz threatens to sue Bella for defamation over ₦11 million debt

Former Big Brother Naija housemates and romantic partners Sheggz and Bella have been in the news after details of their break-up surfaced online, with accusations of domestic violence, unpaid debt, and emotional manipulation making the rounds.

The rumours of unpaid debt have been making the rounds, especially on social media, where alledged screen shot of messages where Sheggs was asking Bella to lend him money has gone viral.

Segun Olusemo, AKA Sheggz, has now reacted to the situation by instructing his legal representatives to issue a letter to his ex Bella, demanding a retraction and apology for alleged defamation. In the letter dated August 21, 2026 and directed at Miss Chiddima Esther Okagbue (Bella), Sheggz's lawyers accused Bella of making defamatory statements, including claiming that he was abusive towards her, owed her a sum of eleven million naira, and also made denigrating comments about his person and his family.

The letter also accused Bella of cyberbullying Sheggz, threatening to use social media to bring him mental distress, and reducing his credibility in the estimations of his peers, business partners, and the public.

The letter demanded that Bella immediately desist from making the aforementioned statements, remove all defamatory content on all platforms, and make a retraction of public apology on social media.

Sheggz's move is the latest in the escalation of tension between the former romantic partners, whose high-profile relationship has been the subject of heated debate among their fans.

Following the massive online reactions to the news of their separation, Bella broke her silence by claiming that her desire to marry Sheggz wasn't out of desperation but genuine love. In a post on her Instagram story, she added that she was forced to walk away after giving the relationship multiple chances that failed to deliver the desired result.

Sheggz, on his part, revealed that the relationship ended in January 2026 after they endured a tumultuous time together, which he put effort into because he believed he saw a future with her. He also revealed that he bought a ring with plans of proposing to Bella before they went their separate ways.
